Biscuits & Gravy Casserole

This casserole feeds multiple families and is always a big hit when we serve it to our houseguests at the lake.

You’ll need:

1 10-oz can of biscuits; I use Grands. Cut each biscuit into six pieces.

1 pound of pork sausage

1-1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese; I use half medium and half sharp.

6 eggs

1/2 cup of milk

salt/pepper to taste

1 1.5 ounce package of pork gravy

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Line the bottom of the prepared baking dish with cut-up biscuits.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir the sausage in the hot skillet until brown and crumbling, five to seven minutes. Drain and discard grease. Scatter sausage over biscuit layer and top with 1 cup of cheddar cheese.

Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together in a bowl and pour over cheese layer.

Mix water and gravy mix together in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until gravy is thickened, one to two minutes. Add more matter for a thinner gravy. Pour gravy over egg layer. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup Cheddar cheese over the casserole.

Bake in preheated oven until egg is fluffy and cheese is bubbly, about 30 minutes.

You can thank me later!
