Our family spent a glorious week in Cancun with friends and let me tell you: after our Montana winter, that sun felt amazing!
We stayed at the Moon Palace Cancun-The Grand and we loved it! I recommend it and here’s why:
Clean rooms. Get the family suite if you’re taking the kids!
The pools. I honestly don’t know how many pools The Grand offers, but I do know this: you won’t get bored!
The water park for kids. There’s a little kid splash area, a lazy river, three slides for the "big kids" (the adults had a blast!), a wave pool, and more.
The food. For an all-inclusive resort, the food was great! We honestly never ate a bad meal. We loved the tacos at Los Tacos; the Italian restaurant was great. The Japanese restaurant was one of my personal favorites. Our girls loved room-service for breakfast on the balcony. Room service totally beats breakfast buffets, any day!
The spa. Oh, the spa. It is simply AMAZING.
The juice bar at the spa. A great, healthy option with no lines. I juiced daily!
The staff. Everywhere we went, the service was amazing.
The kids’ club. You can check them in and LEAVE them! Kids of all ages absolutely love it. There’s a large, adult-only area with a pool, as well. We didn't go there, but we heard wonderful reviews from people who weren't traveling with five girls under the age of 12!
Safety. I was very impressed with the safety measures all over the resort.
The beach. It’s not crowded and since the resort is not in the hotel district, there is very little activity, if any.
One thing to note: if you are a lover of the beach and ocean swimming, this might not be the resort for you. The ocean here definitely has more seaweed than the hotel zone of Cancun. I loved being off the main path! Another thing: make sure you pick The Grand. Moon Palace has three resorts right next to each other. You can go to all three, but you want to stay at The Grand. It’s newer and offers much better accommodations. It is well worth the small increase in price.
We loved Mexico so much that we’re going back in less than two weeks! Ridiculous, I know! But, oh, so FUN! I love to travel!
